Trgovina delikatesnih proizvoda u sklopu restorana / Delicacy shopwithin the restaurantKreator ideje je talijanski arhitekt Pierluigi Piu /The creator of the idea is italian architect Pierluigi PiuLondonski Olivomare najnoviji je iz lanca restoranaOlivo / Olivomare in London is the latest member ofthe Olivo chain of restaurantswere also integrated by tearing down the partition wallbetween them, while filling that section with just a fireproofpartition that had the same tone and matrix as theexisting wall in the room.Tables and chairs carry the names of important designerbrands, as the tables were produced by Italian brandArpero, while Philippe Starck’s “Lago” chairs may justbe the restaurant’s most emphasized element. The constructionof this strictly users’ segment was preformed inoverwhelming white tones. Non-corrosive-steel bracketssupport the upholstered seats, while the cutlery was positionedwithin nine holes at the bar consol. The adequatelighting is produced by Artemis’ “Talo” chandelier. The kitchen is located in the basement, which is approachedby a staircase on the opposite end. It is accompaniedby small cabinets that feature various utensilsthat waiters need in their service to the customers. The floors, on the other hand, are very simple, as they’recovered in industrial white opaque resin, while the flatsurface features aluminium fringes alongside all the walls– connections with the existing curved vertical surfaces,as well as alongside staircase edges. Another smallerroom in the restaurant is also dominated by a wall withornamented motifs, this time presented in the shape ofa wavy relief that reveals a sand beach moulded by therelaxing effect of wind and sea waves. The restaurantalso has interesting access to toilet rooms, as Piu createdan encompassing motif of a red coral reef in oneof those lobbies. By again using the method of cuttingfrom the matrix plastic mass, he covered the walls andceiling with the scorching artificial coral reef, which putsthe entire set in contrast with the adjacent room thatfeatures a slightly darker atmosphere. All elements within the object are united with a sea ofwhite, which is a purposely chosen tone that disappointsthe expectations of having to use blue colour to createthe desired marine ambience. And regardless of thefact that a predominantly white interior may look somewhatsterile, Olivomare is undoubtedly a restaurant ofextremely modern ideas and performance.69
