size that resembles some drawing artist’s desk. It is usedwhen this artist decides to sit down and eat with his friends, and it is surrounded by vintage designer chairs from the1970s. The round black chandelier above the table has aninteresting texture and has been created by designer firmMoooi, while the vase came from London.Second-Hand Furniture That Has Been RevivedThe bedroom features an art picture printed on a grandsizedfabric, which is placed right between the windowsinstead of a curtain. There are plenty of souvenirs from allover the world, as well as some second-hand furniture thathas been revived by Jan Alt and his artistic touch. As an example, the bedroom features a second-hand nightstand, which Alt presented in brand new manner by installingsome lighting within it. The bed is modern and unassuming, designed by Zoeppritz from the Orient-inspired collection.Armchairs in the central part of the apartment are also vintage, while also carrying a very interesting figure and beinghand-painted in neutral grey shades, which further emphasizesdifferent-coloured cushions and wacky blanketsby Zoeppritz. The living room also features some randomlyscattered large leather cushions for sitting, which have alsobeen produced by Zoeppritz, as well as a black rug thatimitates cow leather with his appearance, while the feelingof relaxation and comfort is further enlarged by a moderndesignedfireplace, which is built into one of the rare walls. The office section of the apartment has also used combinationsof vintage furniture and modern details in its design. The big conference desk used to fill up the original Zoeppritzoffices, but Alt has now provided it with a new function bypairing it up with the accompanying, vintage Knoll chair. We also find a black leather carpet with an interesting relieftexture, as well as an unusual gold-leather couch withoutits back part. The bathroom has been separated from therest of the apartment with white surfaces made of sandedglass, while also being decorated in simple and modernfashion, in achromatic colours and with very few details.Spacious Cascade Terrace with JacuzziHowever, it is certain that the most beautiful and most decoratedsection of Jan Alt’s apartment is its large cascadeterrace. Its surface is truly astounding, as it covers over 60square metres and has a function of another large livingroom in the open. The highest part of the terrace featuresa spacious jacuzzi that has been paved in oak wood, justlike the remainder of the terrace. The remaining parts ofthe cascade terrace feature floor cushions, blankets andseveral chairs. Unlike different-coloured cushions from theapartment interior, the colours on the terrace are warmerand gentler, with white being the dominating one. The terraceis particularly embellished by several black plastic Eggchairs, which can be folded and were created in Hungaryin 1968.The terrace, as well as the apartment itself, is dominatedby a casual-but-urban style of decoration, as well as themulti-functionality of the open space that offers rest andrelaxation from everyday commitments. It also provides fora space that can host large parties and lots of people, especiallywhen the unstable London weather gives permissionto spend time on a beautiful terrace that is overlookingthe old part of London.Dream homeVeliki drveni stol, dizajn samog Jana Alta /large wooden table designed by Jan AltKupaonica je uređena jednostavno i moderno, uakromatskim bojama i bez previše detalja /The bathroom is very simple and modern, in achromaticcolours and with very few details101
