SALVAR® INSULATORSSALVAR® Composite Insulators combine the technologiesof fiberglass reinforced rod, metal fittings and ourextensive knowledge of elastomeric insulation to produce ahigh quality composite insulator. Since 1980 thousands ofSALVAR Insulators have been installed by utilities worldwidein a variety of environments. Continued outstandingperformance is proof of their superior quality and design.Design: Unibody Design insulators are one-piece injectionmolded directly to the rod and sealed to the end fittingswith a bead of silicone to give the insulator high dielectricstrength and protect it from all environmental conditions.This design is used for standard distribution dead end/suspension insulators.Weathersheds and Coverings: In accelerated outdoortests, Super SALCOR® is shown to defy the damagingeffects of ultraviolet rays for the equivalent of 50 yearsand offer better resistance to tracking than porcelain.Fiberglass Rod: A high quality, corrosion resistant,fiberglass reinforced rod is the core of every insulatorwith ultimate mechanical strength at least twice themaximum working load.End Fittings: Standard distribution dead/end suspensionunits are supplied with clevis and tongue fittings meetingANSI C29-2 specifications. Ball, socket, and eye fittingsare also available. All are made of hot dipped galvanizedhigh strength carbon steel (stainless steel available uponrequest) and have an ultimate tensile strength rating of15,000 pounds. All end fittings on dead/end suspensioninsulators are attached by compression.
