INSULATED JUMPERSInsulated bypass jumper sets consist ofthree basic components: one pair ofclamps, one pair of ferrules, and alength of insulated cable. Many of themost popular jumper sets are listed onthe following pages associated with eachof the different types of jumper clamps.When a custom jumper is required,follow this procedure to ensure that acomplete and functional jumper isspecified.All Salisbury Insulating Jumpersmeet ASTM F2321 standards.Insulated Jumper Checklist1. Clamp3. Cable2. Ferrules1. Specify the style of insulated clamps. All of the clamps are hand installedwearing rubber insulating gloves, accept either shrouded or unshroudedferrules, and accept insulated cable up to 4/0, 35kV. Insulated jumper clampsare sold in pairs.2. Specify the size and length of insulated cable. Salisbury offers 15kV cablefrom #2 to 4/0. 25 and 35 kV cable are both available in sizes 1/0 and2/0. Be sure to specify the length of the cable chosen.3. Specify the size and style of ferrules required. The size of the ferrule will bedetermined by the size of the cable. Specify the appropriate ferrule catalognumber for either shrouded or unshrouded ferrules. Both types are sold inpairs.4. Specify if the jumpers are to be factory assembled, add the suffix “A” to theend of the clamp and ferrule catalog numbers. A complete jumper set withcrimped ferrules and installed jumper clamps will be supplied.5. Specify if there are any special requirements.
