SALISBURY LINEMEN’S GLOVESManufactured foroutstanding protection, comfort and long-lifeRubber insulating gloves are amongthe most important articles of personalprotection for electrical workers.Incorporating high dielectric andphysical strength, flexibility and durability,Salisbury rubber insulating gloveshave earned the reputation for superiorperformance-meeting and exceedingthe requirements of current ASTMD120 specifications.Salisbury rubber insulating gloves aremanufactured by dipping porcelainforms into a tank of liquefied rubber. The thin layer of rubber whichresults is allowed to dry and theprocess is repeated until the requiredthickness is reached. Depending on the voltage classof the glove, this dipping-drying-dipping cycle may need to be repeatedover 30 times. After the desired thickness is achieved, the gloves areallowed to dry. Once dry, they are cut to length, the reinforcing bead isrolled, and the ASTM label and manufacturing information is appliedalong with any additional permanent marking that may be requested. The gloves are cured in an autoclave under steam pressure and heat. Aftercuring, the gloves are visually inspected. Gloves with visual imperfectionsare rejected. The gloves are then given a halogenation treatment (chlorination)to increase the comfort and wearability. The remaining gloves areelectrically tested following ASTM D120/IEC 903 specifications. Followingthe electrical test, the gloves are given a final visual inspection. Thegloves are then ready to be boxed and shipped.S ALISBURYSetting industry standards since 1855. 7520 N Long Ave Skokie Il 60077 Toll Free 877.406.4501 Fax 847.679.2401E-3
