The cause of death pattern among males is different as injury-associated mortality accounts for amuch greater proportion of deaths (21 percent for all ages—see Figure 8.1). The distributions of causes ofdeath among males aged 0-4, 5-14 and 60 and over are similar to those for females, but with higher levelsof injury-related deaths.
