StandardsCE markingSystem GCharacteristicsCE markingThe CE declaration of conformityProducts marked CECE marking is defined by regulations and attributed under the sole responsibility ofthe manufacturer. It is intended for the verification authorities of the Europeancountries that enforce the European regulations.It allows the free circulation of a product in the European Union and certifies that itcomplies with the basic requirements of all the applicable European directives.CE marking does not attest to quality and does not indicate conformity with astandard.The declaration is intended exclusively for authorities in charge of verifyingcompliance with the applicable regulations and it drafted, signed and held forpresentation to the authorities by the manufacturer.For the <strong>Prisma</strong> <strong>Plus</strong> range, the declaration is the responsibility of the SchneiderElectric unit that designed and developed the product.For <strong>LV</strong> switchboards, the declaration is the responsibility of the panel builder.The following products receive CE marking:b all products that are liable to endanger the safety of persons, animals and property(<strong>LV</strong> directive)b all products that are liable to cause electromagnetic disturbance above astandardised threshold or the performance of which is liable to be affected by suchdisturbance (EMC directive).Consequences:b the <strong>Prisma</strong> <strong>Plus</strong> range of switchboards falls under the <strong>LV</strong> directive onlyb <strong>LV</strong> switchboards are covered by the <strong>LV</strong> directive and may also fall under the EMCdirective, depending on the type of devices incorporated.CE markingeFor the <strong>Prisma</strong> <strong>Plus</strong> range, the CE marking is placed:b on the packing of "mechanical" componentsb on the product itself for "electrical" components.For the <strong>LV</strong> assemblies created by the panel builder, the CE marking is placed:b on the packing materialsb on the name plate (if applicable)b on one of the documents accompanying the switchboard when it is shipped.151
