▪▪100 volunteers participated in cleaning up the banks ofthe river Bik.▪▪10 volunteers formed a river patrol tracking about unauthorizeddisposal of garbage on the banks of the river.BIGGEST OUTCOMES OF THE PROJECTThe project allowed young people’s involvement inidentifying and solving environmental problems in thecommunity. Students concluded that there is not onlyclean where cleaning is often, but where is kept clean.Participants received research skills, presentation,teamwork, discussion of the most important topics criticalthinking. The main part of the project was certainlypractical activities, participation in cleaning the riverBik, preparation of environmental information, ecologicalpatrol participation.WHAT WENT WELL? WHAT WENT NOT SO WELL?..The project was enthusiastically supported by the youthof the community, representatives of local authorities,teachers, managers of schools.Unfortunately, there have been cases of indifference onthe part of citizens and businessmen.IMPACT ON THE SCHOOL’S EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMThe project allowed the formation of learning communitiesas it was attended by representatives of the two highschools and one college. To identify environmental problemswere lessons conducted research in the chemistry,biology, geography teachers using the correspondingobjects. The organization of sanitation attended schoolprincipals and teachers of civic education. Studentsdeveloped their research skills, communication, use ofscientific language, and self-evaluation.HOW DID YOU CELEBRATE?All participants in the various activities of the participantsreceived diplomas but not yet final activity tookplace. The final event will be held on May 25.RECOMMENDATIONSWe had a good cooperation with Ms Timuta , she is aProfessor of Biology at the High School “Alecsandri”Calarasi, an active teacher, PhD in biological sciences.Projects Report 37
