I gave my students the opportunity tomake decisions. I promoted our project among the teachers and the authorities in thetown educational department, trying to involve a bigger amount of people.The students participated in the discussions and events, they provided different ideas,and, actually, we had some leaders. Children participated in the project actively.There were several <strong>small</strong> teams working on different issues, preparing <strong>for</strong> a biggerevent, however, they had a common goal and the events were conducted by the wholegroup, involving as many people as possible.PROJECT DESCRIPTIONTOPICWe worked on encouraging young people to reduce their pressure on the <strong>planet</strong> and makingthem contribute to a socially and environmentally friendly environment. One of theaims was to lower their ecological footprint and raise people’s awareness of the environmentalproblems by becoming active citizens.MAIN ACTIVITIESYuliya Nayavko in<strong>for</strong>med the school on the project events by announcements and postersin our School newspapers, articles in the local newspaper, <strong>web</strong> blogs, school <strong>web</strong>siteTo involve the local community, I organized a meeting at the educational department <strong>for</strong>school youth clubs’ coordinators where we planned our work on Ecological month in April.UAEuroclub “Beam of Europe”, Peace Corps volunteers celebrated the Earth Hour 2013 byplaying ecological games, speaking about global issues. We promoted it with posters inevery school and lots of people joined us by switching off the light.Senior students had a meeting with the Candidate of Sciences from the Ukrainian NationalForesty University. He told the students about the World Environmental Constitution.Students also learned about different researches that are being held in the CarpathianMountains.
