There<strong>for</strong>e, my role wasto make sure that the timeline of the project was not overlooked. In addition, I had tomake the travel arrangements <strong>for</strong> our cleaning campaigns and obtain authorisationand approvals from local authorities <strong>for</strong> our selective waste collection centre.The children decided the objectives and main goal of our project and what they wantedto do to reach the goal.PROJECT DESCRIPTIONTOPICWe worked mainly on educating people about what carbon footprint is and how toreduce it. We also tried to educate a sense of responsibility to react towards the threatsposed by pollution.MAIN ACTIVITIESOur goal was to educate people about ways to reduce carbon footprint by power of example,believing that in order to see change, you have to start changing things yourself.There<strong>for</strong>e, we planned some activities in which we could show ways to show what westand <strong>for</strong>.Out first activities had the purpose of providing the know-how so we organiseda few presentations in ours school, in which we also presented the results of ourresearch (regarding the waste management problem which affects water quality inour area).ROWe planted a mini-orchard in our schoolyard so to set an example of ways to improveair quality and reduce soil erosion.We set on a cleaning campaign to reduce the effects of pollution around LakeCiurbesti, and protect the natural habitat of birds that nest there.We organised an “Earth Our” event, which focused on two main activities: the “Art44 Schools Taking Action For Europe’s Environment
