VelodromeThe Island整 個 公 園 的 核 心 , 和 整 個 奧 運 會 的 重 點 , 便是 位 於 公 園 南 端 , 四 面 環 水 的 主 場 館 ── 奧 林匹 克 運 動 場 (Olympic Stadium)。 場 館由 著 名 運 動 場 建 築 公 司 Populous 用 了 四 年於 這 個 「 島 嶼 」 上 建 成 , 他 們 放 棄 了 用 鋼 鐵作 主 材 料 , 改 用 共 重 57 噸 的 廢 棄 的 金 屬 ( 包括 鎖 匙 、 刀 及 槍 械 等 ) 來 提 煉 出 來 的 輕 身 鋼材 , 令 這 運 動 場 館 除 了 較 一 般 場 館 輕 了 75%外 , 還 增 添 了 環 保 和 反 武 器 的 意 義 。奧 運 會 的 首 天 , 來 自 各 地 的 觀 眾 將 會 佔 據 場內 80,000 個 座 位 去 欣 賞 由 金 像 導 演 丹 尼 . 鮑爾 (Danny Boyle) 所 策 劃 的 開 幕 禮 。 期 後 ,所 有 田 徑 運 動 員 亦 將 會 在 這 裡 接 受 觀 眾 們 的歡 呼 和 支 持 , 一 同 分 享 這 份 無 比 的 光 榮 。 而在 8 月 12 日 當 晚 , 所 有 的 運 動 員 和 觀 眾 又 再次 聚 首 一 堂 去 慶 祝 和 歡 送 2012 年 倫 敦 奧 運 。The Olympic Stadium is certainly the centrepiece of the park, aswell as the flagship of the Games. It is situated on isolated landsurrounded by serveral of small rivers to form the Stadium Islandat the southern end of the Olympic Park.The well-known sports facilities architect, Populous, took fouryears to construct this most sustainable structure in history. Thestadium was built from recycled metal extracted from 57 tonsof scrap knives, guns and keys; not only to make the structure75% lighter in weight than other steel stadiums, but also as arealisation of sustainability and weapon destruction.On the first day of the Summer Olympics, eager internationalspectators will gather here and occupy all 80,000 seats to watchthe mind-blowing opening ceremony directed by Oscar-winningdirector Danny Boyle. And from then, the athletics winners willshare their glory with all the crowds cheering for them in thesame stadium. Finally, spectators will once again gather here tocelebrate and say farewell to the London Summer Olympics on12 August.KEYPAD
