For instance, her latest project ‘Four Sisters’reflects the traditional concept of preferring boys rather than girlsthat still exists in society today. Growing up in a traditional family ina walled village, she has witnessed a mother of three girls receivingunfair criticism by family members.To Man Fung-yi, art is more than just a profession, but more like alifetime passion and mission. She describes herself as a full time artistwho hasn’t stopped creating art for twenty years. She has even set upher studio and her home in the same building in order to work whenevershe wants. By the year 2001, she had become a mother, and that alsoset a turning point in her life. These days, her son is the only reason tomake her leave her work, and the invaluable experience of growing upwith her son provides new ideas for her creations.149
