This optionreplaces the dependency on the copy serialization value in the management classto per<strong>for</strong>m an image backup.Attention: <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> dynamic image backups should not be used <strong>for</strong>certain file systems such as the AIX JFS2 file system, because the file system’sinternal design could provide inconsistent data even when there is no writeactivity. Dynamic image backup can easily result in a fuzzy image, <strong>and</strong> that imagecannot be guaranteed to be valid or complete when restored. If the <strong>Tivoli</strong> <strong>Storage</strong><strong>Manager</strong> client fails to mount the file system after restoring an image, you can runfsck to attempt to restore the file system’s integrity. However, be aware thatrunning fsck can affect the integrity of large amounts of data.Place the include.image statement containing the imagetype value in your clientsystem options file dsm.sys.ClientsThis option is valid <strong>for</strong> AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, <strong>and</strong> all <strong>Linux</strong> clients. The <strong>Tivoli</strong><strong>Storage</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> client API does not support this option.FilePlace this option in the client system options file (dsm.sys).
