You can create a .toc file manuallyby running /usr/sbin/inutoc in the local directory to which you copied the TivoliStorage Manager image. From the AIX command line, enter:/usr/sbin/inutoc /usr/sys/inst.imagesA .toc file is created in that directory.To install Tivoli Storage Manager from the CD-ROM:1. Log in as the root user, insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive device. Youwill need to manually mount the CD-ROM device for remote or NFSinstallations.2. From the AIX command line, type smitty install and press Enter.3. Select Install and Update Software and press Enter.4. Select Install and Update From ALL Available Software and press Enter.5. At the INPUT device/directory for software prompt, press the F4 key andselect the CD-ROM device containing the installation CD-ROM or specify thedirectory containing the installation images, and press Enter.6. At the SOFTWARE to install prompt, press the F4 key. Select the Tivoli StorageManager filesets you want to install by pressing the F7 key. Then press Enter.7. On the Install and Update From ALL Available Software panel, press the F4key to change any entry fields, or use the default fields. Press Enter twice tobegin the installation.8. After installation completes, select F10 to exit.Notes:1. When installing the clients in a non-English locale, the corresponding localmessage filesets are required in addition to the clients from the Install andUpdate From ALL Available Software panel. For example, when installing theTivoli Storage Manager client in es_ES locale, the following message fileset isalso required:TSM Client Messages - Spanish msg.es_ES2. When filesets are installed, the filesets are automatically committed on thesystem. The previous version of Tivoli Storage Manager software is completelyreplaced by the newly installed version.3. The 32-bit Application Programming Interface (tivoli.tsm.client.api.32bit) is aninstall prerequisite to the 64-bit Application Programming Interface(tivoli.tsm.client.api.64bit).The Tivoli Storage Manager files are installed in the /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin directory. If you move the Tivoli Storage Manager files to another directory,you must perform the following steps:1. Make sure the permissions of the installed files have not changed.2. Update the symbolic links for the installed files in the following directories:v The /usr/bin directoryv The /usr/lib directory for Tivoli Storage Manager librariesv The directory that contains symbolic links for each language package youinstall (for example, /usr/lib/nls/msg/en_US).3.
