PasswordThe password option specifies a Tivoli Storage Manager password. If you do notspecify this option and your administrator has set authentication to On, you areprompted for a password when you start a Tivoli Storage Manager session.Notes:1. If the server prompts for a password, the password is not displayed as youenter it. However, if you use the password option on the command line, yourpassword will be displayed as you enter it.2. PasswordaccessAuthorized UserThe passwordaccess option specifies whether you want to generate your passwordautomatically or set as a user prompt. Your administrator can require a passwordfor your client node by enabling the authentication feature. Ask your administratorif a password is required for your client node.If a password is required, you can choose to:v Set the password for your client node yourself and have Tivoli Storage Managerprompt for it each time you request services.v Let Tivoli Storage Manager automatically generate a new password for yourclient node each time it expires, encrypt and store the password in a file, andretrieve the password from that file when you request services.
