Chemical group listThe chemicals group list offers information to find the resistance of plastics to chemical substances, which arenot mentioned in the chemical list. However, the appropriate chemical group must be known (derived from thechemical formula).ExampleA chemical is not named in the chemicals list. However, it is known that one or more elements belonging to a group, e.g. aldehydes / ketones group. In Table 10 are listed some typical elements, representative of these groups, which are eligible as potential elementsof the chemical in question. These elements are also included in the chemicals list and thus the chemical resistance can be established. Please noteThis option does not provide a reliability of 100 %. It should be only used as help, just in the case that the chemicalresistance can not be determined from the list of chemicals.ChemicalgroupsAldehydes / ketonesAlcohols / glycolsAliphatic hydrocarbonsAmidesAminesAromatichydrocarbonsTypical elementsacetaldehydeAcetoneMethyl ethyl ketoneDiethylene glycolEthanolGlycerinIsopropanolMethanolTrichloroethanolAcetyleneMethaneOctaneAcetamideDimethylacetamideDimethylformamideFormamideAnilineDimethylamineEthylenediamineTriethylamineBenzeneTolueneCarbon tetrachlorideHalogenated hydrocarbonsFluorochlorohydrocarbon(FCHC)Table 10: chemical groups - Typical elementsChemicalgroupsHalogenated hydrocarbonsEsterEtherHalogensInorganic acidsInorganic alkalineNitrilesOrganic acidsPhenolsInorganic saltsTypical elementsTetrachloroethyleneTrichloroethane (1,1,1-)TrichloroethyleneAmyl acetateEthyl acetateEtherIsopropyl etherChlorine (liquid)Chlorine gas (dry)Hydrochloric acidsPhosphorus acidSulfuric acidAmmonium hydroxideSodium hydroxideAcetonitrileAcrylonitrileAcetic acidsFormic acidOleic acidPhenolPotassium carbonatePotassium chloratePotassium chloridePotassium sulfateZEDEX ® basic types ZEDEX ® families Post heattreatmentMachiningShippingoverviewSterilizationChemicalresistance121
