Setting the Modulation TypeMonitor Setup OptionsThe Modulation Type screen allows you to set the modulation type for each of theRF channels.Important: The modulation type established from the front panel of the GQAM isnot recorded by the DNCS. At the next GQAM restart, the modulation type revertsto the value stored in the DNCS.To set the modulation type, complete the following steps.1 Press OPTIONS until the Modulation Type screen appears.2 Press the RF SEL key to display information for each channel.3 Press the Up or Down Arrow keys to scroll through the following availablemodulation types:• DAVIC 16QAM• DAVIC 64QAM• DAVIC 256QAM• ITUB 64QAM• ITUB 256QAM4 Press ENTER. The system saves the selected modulation type in NVRAMmemory and the default screen appears.Setting the ITUB Interleave ScreenThe ITUB Interleave screen displays the interleave depth factor for all ITU-Bmodulation settings. The interleave depth factor specifies the spacing for theforward error correction (FEC) code within the MPEG transport data. Interleavingevenly disperses the data to transport it reliably over the cable channel.Important: The recommended setting for this screen is 128,1. Only Cisco Servicespersonnel should modify this setting.Note: The interleave value established from the front panel of the GQAM is notrecorded by the DNCS.
