DB Schenker Terms and Conditions of Transport

Where the dangerous goods are loaded in a container andtransport is followed by sea transport, a signed packingcertificate/stowage certificate must be prepared by theperson responsible for the load for enclosure with theother documents. Each item must have the prescribedmarking and labelling.1.4.7 Wines and spirits – Contact your DB Schenker office.1.4.8 Weapons – Contact your DB Schenker office.1.4.9 Goods and storage insuranceGoods insurance is not included in the basic undertakingbut can be taken out through DB Schenker, see underOptions. With the amendment of §27 C.3 in the GeneralConditions, storage insurance is only taken out followinginstructions from the customer.2. Surcharges and option costsFor supplementary/optional services in addition to thebasic undertaking, there will be surcharges, which aredecided in agreement with the consignor or/freight payer(also applies to consignee freight).For example:Options• Special equipment (e.g. forklift truck and crane truck)for loading and unloading• Special securing devices• Return of a receipt• Special equipment on a vehicle, rear lift in certain countries• Obtaining a permit and special measures according tothe permit terms and conditions in conjunction withtransport where dispensation is assumed from applicabletraffic regulations• Special measures in conjunction with the transport ofobjects higher than 2.2 m (international 2.0 m), longerthan 6 m or wider than 2.4 m• Measures resulting from the requirement that transporttakes place without reloading or using a certain meansof transport• The cost of returning the Ti part of the waybill or othertransport document together with the invoice.• Special monitoring/supervision of vehicles carryingcertain dangerous goods according to the stipulations inADR, ADR-S• Transport support – production of transport supportdocumentation• Specified unloading timeSurcharges• Amended charge as a result of an incorrectly statedpayment instruction• Cost of correcting incorrect and/or incomplete transportinstructions• Cost of incorrect transport instructions• Charge for parcel consignments and individual parcelsthat exceed the stated weight and volume stipulations• Special internal cleaning of vehicles• Dead weight as a result of a cancelled assignment notbeing cancelled within a reasonable period of time priorto the agreed loading time• Reloading as a result of local traffic regulations orlimited access3. Freight calculation and terms andconditions of payment3.1 Freight calculationFreight is calculated according to the price list agreedbetween the customer and DB Schenker, or according toa price list adopted by DB Schenker. In addition to thepart of the freight stated in the price list, certain freightsupplements and surcharges are payable as well as chargesfor supplementary services and options over and above thebasic undertaking.Certain transport movements require certain measures,equipment or aids over and above the basic undertaking.For such transport movements, and for other services overand above the basic undertaking, surcharges are debited orthe freight is calculated differently from what is as statedin the price lists.3.2 Terms and conditions of paymentIn the case of domestic goods, the freight should be paidin full, either by the consignor or by the consignee.In the case of international goods, the freight costs,charges etc. are divided between the seller and the purchaseraccording to Combiterms 2011 – Land transport,unless otherwise agreed.The client should always inform the carrier of theCombiterms applicable.The consignor is liable for the payment of freight forgoods that can spoil quickly or the value of which cannotbe guaranteed to cover the freight cost. The consignor isliable for payment of all costs related to a consignmentthat is not collected by the consignee.If DB Schenker invoices the consignee and the consigneerefuses to pay, stating that a different agreement wasreached between the consignee and the consignor, theconsignor is liable for payment of the freight. The sameshall apply if the consignee, after the end of the paymentperiod and after a reminder has been sent, has not paidthe freight.Freight and other charges are stated excluding VAT.DB Schenker’s general terms of payment are ten (10) daysnet from the date of the invoice unless payment in cash isdemanded by DB Schenker.The minimum charge per consignment is SEK 160, excludingoptions and surcharges. For DB SCHENKERcoldsped,the minimum charge is SEK 180 per consignment. Theminimum charge does not apply to DB SCHENKERparcel.An extended period of credit can be granted in exceptionalcases and is regulated through an interim agreement, whereupon which a credit charge is payable on the invoiceamount for each extra day of credit over and above thegeneral ten (10) days.Freight credit can be obtained after a separate reviewand on presentation of customary security, such as adeposit, an on account payment or a bank guarantee.An invoicing charge is debited according to theDB Schenker rules applicable at the time the invoiceis issued.If there is a delay in payment, the DB Schenker penaltyinterest applicable at the time the invoice was issued isdebited and is charged from the due date stated on theinvoice. The interest on overdue payments is currently1.8% per month. A statutory reminder fee is debited ifa written reminder is issued.7
