RIPDP NamelistThe namelist file for RIPDP contains the namelist &userin. All of the &userin namelistvariables are listed below. Each variable has a default value, which is the value thisvariable will take if its specification is omitted from the namelist. Additional details foreach namelist variable can be found in Chapter 3 of the full RIP User’s Guide.Variable Name Default Value Descriptionptimes 9.0E+09 Times to process. This can be a string of times or a series in theform of A,-B,C, which is interpreted as "timesfrom hour A to hour B, every C hours".ptimeunits ' h' Units of ptimes. This can be either 'h' (for hours), 'm' (forminutes), or 's' (for seconds).iptimes 99999999 Times to process in the form of 8-digit"mdate" times (i.e. YYMMDDHH).A value of 99999999 indicates ptimes is beingused instead.tacc 1.0 Time tolerance, in seconds.Any times encountered in the model outputthat are within tacc seconds of one of thetimes specified in ptimes or iptimes will beprocessed.discard ' ' Names of variables that, if encountered in themodel data file, will not be processed.retain ' ' Names of variables that, if encountered in themodel data file, should be processed, eventhough the user specified basic on theripdp_wrfnmm command line.iinterp 0 NMM Only: Method for defining B-grid(described above)0 = Collocated high-density B-grid1 = Interpolate to a new B-gridIf iinterp=1 then the following namelist variables must also be set for the indicateddomain on which the new B-grid will be based.Variable Name Default Value Descriptiondskmcib 50.0 Grid spacing, in km, of the centered domain.miycorsib, mjxcorsib 100 Grid points in the y and x directions,WRF-NMM V3: User’s Guide 7-27

It will be used in the file names of all the new RIP data filesthat are created. The basic option causes ripdp_wrfnmm to process only the basic variables that RIPrequires, whereas all causes ripdp_wrfnmm to process all variables encountered in themodel output file. It produces files for those variables using the variable name providedin the model output to create the file name. If all is specified, the discard variable can beused in the RIPDP namelist to prevent processing of unwanted variables. However, ifbasic is specified, the user can request particular other fields (besides the basic fields) tobe processed by setting a retain variable in the RIPDP namelist. Finally, data-file-1, data-file-2, ... are the path names (either full or relative to the currentworking directory) of the model data set files, in chronological order. If model outputexists for nested domains, RIPDP must be run for each domain separately and each runmust be given a new model-data-set-name.WRF-NMM V3: User’s Guide 7-28
