<strong>2012</strong>-<strong>13</strong> <strong>Government</strong> <strong>Mid</strong>-<strong>year</strong> <strong>Financial</strong> <strong>Projections</strong> <strong>Statement</strong>FisheriesExpensesAdditional Shark Mitigation StrategiesAn additional $3.6 million has been provided over the forward estimates period for arange of shark surveillance and tagging initiatives and a community awareness program,to reduce the likelihood of shark attacks along the Western Australian coastline.This forms part of a new $6.9 million shark mitigation package, with the remainingamounts to be spent by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet ($500,000) and theDepartment of Commerce ($2.2 million), in addition to minor capital expenditure by theDepartment of Fisheries ($600,000).Enhancing Service DeliveryAn additional $1.9 million has been provided in <strong>2012</strong>-<strong>13</strong> to provide a more financiallysustainable expenditure base.
