In addition, the Authority will managevacancy rates, and implement more cost effective ways to deliver services. Expenditureon rent, internal audit, and brush cutting and mowing will also be reduced.Regional Development and LandsThe Department of Regional Development and Lands will improve procurement practicesand reprioritise the use of external contractors for non-frontline support services.School Curriculum and Standards AuthorityThe School Curriculum and Standards Authority will achieve savings through increasedelectronic delivery of information, rather than printing and posting documents toindividual schools. The Authority will also rationalise spending on guides and awardceremonies, discontinue its trial of online examinations and reprioritise the filming ofpractical examinations.Small Business Development CorporationThe Small Business Development Corporation is currently undertaking a strategic reviewof its programs and services, in order to reprioritise its suite of programs and achievesavings from 20<strong>13</strong>-14. Savings are expected to be made by not replacing redundant andone-off programs.Sport and RecreationThe Department of Sport and Recreation will achieve savings through reducedexpenditure in capital investment programs, services and contracts, travel, consumablesand vehicles.State DevelopmentThe Department of State Development will achieve budget savings through staff vacancymanagement, leave clearance and through reduced expenditure on legal fees, externalconsultants, travel and office consumables.Swan River TrustThe Swan River Trust will achieve savings through a range of measures, includingreprioritising activities and programs, and restoration works.144
