Appendix 3Road Maintenance ContractsWhilst still maintaining the level of road maintenance, due to rise and fall clauses incertain Main Roads contracts the latest assumptions for the oil price will result in a$57.1 million decrease in spending (over four <strong>year</strong>s) on road maintenance.Road Transfers from State to Local <strong>Government</strong>In accordance with the criteria set out in the Main Roads Act 1930, the State will transferthe Eneabba-Coolimba Road, which has a value of $10.2 million, to the Shire ofCarnamah in 2014-15.Western Australian Natural Disaster Relief and RecoveryArrangements (WANDRRA)WANDRRA assists in the recovery of communities whose social, financial and economicwell-being has been severely impacted by a natural disaster. An additional $40.6 millionwill be spent in <strong>2012</strong>-<strong>13</strong> on restoring roads affected by flooding in the Kimberley,Gascoyne, Pilbara and <strong>Mid</strong>-West Regions.Asset InvestmentGreenough River BridgeAn additional $18 million will be spent over three <strong>year</strong>s, commencing in <strong>2012</strong>-<strong>13</strong>, toreplace the Greenough River Bridge to support efficient road freight transport by allowinglarge combination heavy vehicles to travel via Brand Highway and reducing the impact oflarge flood events on the community and the transport industry.Mitchell Freeway Extension – Burns Beach Road to Hester AvenueAn additional $315 million will be spent over five <strong>year</strong>s, commencing in <strong>2012</strong>-<strong>13</strong>, toextend the Mitchell Freeway from Burns Beach Road to Hester Avenue by constructing afreeway standard dual carriageway, an interchange at Burns Beach Road and NeerabupRoad, a dual carriageway between Hester Avenue and Wanneroo Road, convertingNeerabup Road west of the freeway to a dual carriageway, and a single carriageway toWanneroo Road.Reid Highway (Duffy Road to Erindale Road) – Dual CarriagewayAn additional $48 million will be spent over the forward estimates period, to construct anadditional lane in each direction on Reid Highway between Duffy Road and ErindaleRoad, a new bridge over the Mitchell Freeway, modifications to the ramp intersectionsand the upgrade of the Duffy Road/Reid Highway intersection.111
