System Configuration—JailsIf you plan to set up multiple jails, you may repeat the process for the other jaildirectory hierarchies, except the buildworld part. For example, to install a new jailunder the /usr/jails/anotherjail directory, run the following commands:# setenv D /usr/jails/anotherjail# mkdir –p $D# cd /usr/src# make installworld DESTDIR=$D# make distribution DESTDIR=$DYou can set up as many jails depending on how many resources your host hardwarecan handle. You should also manually mount devfs under the jail before configuring the jailas follows:# mount –t devfs devfs $D/devOnce the initial setup of the jail is finished, there are several steps to be taken in orderto make the jail usable.Configuring the Host SystemJails make use of the host systems network stack, for their network subsystem. The IP address that you use for the jail should be already configured on the hostsystem's network interface. For example, if your system uses 10.0.0.1 as IP address on bge0 network interface, and you want to use 10.0.0.2 on the jail, you should add the following line to your/etc/rc.conf:ifconfig_bge0_alias0="inet 10.0.0.2/32"You may run /etc/rc.d/netif start command to apply the changes to thenetwork interface. Then you should look for the network services running on the host system andbound to all IP addresses:# sockstat -4lUSER COMMAND PID FD PROTO LOCAL ADDRESS FOREIGN ADDRESSroot inetd 1450 5 tcp4 *:21 *:*root inetd 1450 6 udp4 *:69 *:*root sendmail 1031 3 tcp4 *:25 *:*root sshd 1025 3 tcp4 *:22 *:*root syslogd 970 6 udp4 *:514 *:*[ 78 ]
