EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROCEDURE FOR INSTRUCTORS IN THE CLASSROOMFaculty members are responsible for ensuring the safe exit of all students in their classes.Faculty members are to remain with their class through the duration of the crisis. A map of thefacility is attached to reference the proper building exit strategy.1. Stay calm. Stop work immediately. Advise students to secure their valuables <strong>and</strong>prepare to exit the classroom <strong>and</strong> the building.2. Grab your classroom roster, if possible, <strong>and</strong> direct your students to walk (not run) to thenearest stairwell for safe exit.3. Close the classroom door after the last student has exited the classroom.4. Follow directions for exiting your area of the building. There are emergency exits locatedthroughout the building. Please see the facility map for a specific list.INSERT EMERGENCY EXITS AND THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE PEOPLEMAKE IT OUT IN THOSE LOCATIONS5. A staff or faculty member should help escort the physically challenged individual out ofthe building.6. Once at the designated rendezvous point, South Parking area use class roster to identifywhether any students are missing. Notify a Crisis Management Team member if allstudents are not accounted for.7. All faculty members for these classes are to wait with students until clearance is given tore-enter the building.14
