ELEVATOR BREAKDOWNCrisis: The elevator has stopped operating and people are trapped inside.- People trapped inside should push the call button inside the elevator. The elevator repairservice is automatically dispatched by pushing the call button.- Individuals aware of the situation should immediately inform Security at 615-886-1401- Security will contact management personnel to assist with calming those inside theelevator informing them that repair has been notified and that the elevator will berepaired as quickly as possible. Instruct those trapped inside not to pry the doors openor otherwise crawl out of the elevator.- If fatalities are involved, the Senior Director of Communications and appropriate campuspersonnel will instruct staff, faculty, and students not to speak with any mediarepresentatives. Refer to procedures related to death of student or employee. Wheninjuries occur, the Director of Student Services will help facilitate communication with thefamily.- The Senior Director of Communications, the University Chancellor and the CampusPresident will prepare a statement for public and internal Argosy Universitycommunication.32
