SEXUAL ASSAULT1. If the assault is witnessed, do not attempt to interfere or apprehend the assailant. Call911 immediately.2. If the person assaulted or who knows of the incident should contact <strong>Security</strong> or Directorof Student Services. 911 should be contacted immediately.3. <strong>Security</strong> or the Director of Student Services will gather information <strong>and</strong> complete theIncident <strong>Report</strong> Form. The Director of Student Services will file internal reports.4. <strong>Campus</strong> authorities can assist a student in reporting violations at a student’s request.5. If the alleged perpetrator is a student, Director of Student Services will pursue for furtherinvestigation <strong>and</strong> disciplinary action.6. Student Services personnel will be available to assist <strong>and</strong> provide support services,emotional support, <strong>and</strong> referral to local hospitals, the Wellness Corporation, crisisprograms, <strong>and</strong> sexual assault programs.7. Depending on the nature <strong>and</strong> the circumstances of the incident the Director of StudentServices, with input from the Executive Committee <strong>and</strong> the Senior Director ofCommunications may prepare a statement.Long Term/Preventative:Ongoing training on sexual assault awareness, prevention <strong>and</strong> procedures for staff, faculty,residence staff, <strong>and</strong> students.Awareness/educational programs to promote awareness <strong>and</strong> prevention of rape <strong>and</strong> othersexual offenses.46
