LAW ENFORCEMENT NEEDS TO LOCATE OR ARREST A STUDENTIf a law enforcement official needs to locate or arrest a student <strong>and</strong> is inquiring if the student ison the College premises, the campus should:Take down the badge number of the law enforcement official <strong>and</strong> verify there jurisdiction <strong>and</strong>approval to be at the campus.If the student is registered to be in a class currently running, a college official should takethe law enforcement official to a private office or conference room <strong>and</strong> have them wait therewhile he/she goes to the student’s class <strong>and</strong> brings the student to the law enforcement officialunless the college official has reason to believe that confronting the student may place him/herin an unsafe situation.If the student is not in the class or is not registered to be in class currently running <strong>and</strong> wehave no knowledge if the student is on campus or of his/her whereabouts on the campus, ourobligation to help the law enforcement official locate the students has been met at that time.Examples of law enforcement officials include, but are not limited to: Police officer Immigration <strong>and</strong> Customs Enforcement agent Federal marshal State trooper CIA Sheriff FBI Drug Enforcement Agency45
