UTILITY FAILURENotify security and/or a member of the CMT in the event of a major utility failure or if there ispotential danger to building occupants. Notify building manager to coordinate. Follow thestandard evacuation procedures if a building emergency exists. Always observe the followingprocedures if utility emergencies arise:Electrical/Light FailureAssign member of CMT to determine whether anyone is trapped in an elevator or requiresimmediate assistance. Determine whether this is a building-related or city-related outage andplan accordingly.Campus buildings may not provide sufficient illumination in corridors and stairs for safe exiting.Utilize flashlights and other sources of light to safely exit the building.Natural Gas LeakCease all operations. Do not switch on lights or any electrical equipment. Electrical arcing cantrigger an explosion.If the smell is inside and the area can be ventilated via an open window, do so.Call a member of the CMT immediately. Give your name, location of the leak, and any otherinformation you feel is useful.If the situation warrants, a member of the CMT will activate the building alarm and beginstandard evacuation.Plumbing Failure/FloodingCease using all electrical equipment and notify a member of the CMT.Ventilation ProblemIf smoke or other noxious odors come from the ventilation system, immediately notify securityand a member of the CMT immediately. If necessary, cease all operations and vacate the area.Phone and Network FailureNotify campus IT immediately. Campus IT will work with Argosy CS IT to restore phone andnetwork capability.53
