<strong>The</strong> Vision for Reform 20for rating would be evolved by the Standing Committee for LegalEducation while the rating would be done by independent agencieslicensed by IRAHE for that purpose. Recognition could be eithergranted or withdrawn on the basis <strong>of</strong> such ratings. <strong>The</strong> ratingresults should be reviewed annually, regularly updated, monitoredand made available in the public domain.iii.Further, in order to attract and retain talented faculty, the NKCReport recommends better incentives, including improvingremuneration and service conditions. According to NKC, it maybe necessary to think <strong>of</strong> salary differentials within and betweenuniversities and law schools along with other means <strong>of</strong> attractingand retaining talented faculty members. Such salary differentialsbetween and within universities and law schools could be effectivewithout being large, and would retain talent in legal academiawhere the problem <strong>of</strong> inadequate remuneration is far more acutethan in other disciplines. Salary differentials could be considered asa means to retain quality talent and also promote a culture <strong>of</strong>excellence.Importantly, the NKC Report recommends that to foster qualityand create better incentives, there is also need to remove fetters onfaculty that pertain to opportunities in legal practice (such asREPORT OF 3-MEMBER COMMITTEE ON REFORM OF LEGAL EDUCATION
