<strong>The</strong> 2008 BCI Rules 29minimum percentage <strong>of</strong> marks (not below 45% <strong>of</strong> the total marks in case<strong>of</strong> general category applicants and 40% <strong>of</strong> the total marks in case <strong>of</strong> SCand ST applicants) required to be obtained for appearing in the qualifyingexamination to either <strong>of</strong> the two courses. <strong>The</strong> rule itself clarifies that suchpercentage <strong>of</strong> marks is only the minimum criteria, and shall notautomatically entitle a candidate to get admission into an institution andsuch candidate would be required to fulfill other institutional criterianotified by the institution or the Government concerned.<strong>The</strong> standard <strong>of</strong> courses to be imparted is provided for in Rule 8 <strong>of</strong> the2008 Rules, while Rule 9 provides for the process and manner <strong>of</strong> runningan integrated course. Rule 11, importantly, addresses a key concern withrespect to the infrastructural capabilities <strong>of</strong> law colleges. Rule 11 providesthat any institution imparting legal education would have to comply withthe minimum standards <strong>of</strong> infrastructure as provided under Schedule IIIto the 2008 Rules. 6b) Inspection, Recognition and AccreditationRules 14 to 33 are contained in Chapter III, which pertains to provisionsregarding Inspection, Recognition and Accreditation <strong>of</strong> institutionsimparting legal education.
