Conclusions and Recommendations 50requirements of the time, and in fact, are suited to ensure the highestquality of legal education. However, there still remain a few areas whichrequire firm and immediate implementation, and thus the Committeerecommends the adoption of the following measures:I. Constitution of National Legal Knowledge Council: Forthe purpose of formulating the policy vis-à-vis legaleducation India at a national level and by due considerationof experts from various fields, it is recommended that aNational Legal Knowledge Council be established under theorders of this Hon’ble Court comprising legal luminaries aswell as experts from various socially relevant fields.Thefunctions of the National Legal Knowledge Council wouldinclude continuing reform of legal education in the country,including of matters pertaining to inspection andrecognition of law colleges as well as appointment of suitablefaculty to various institutions imparting legal educationacross the country.The Council would have the power to constitute expertgroups / sub-committees for the purpose of assisting the BarCouncil of India in matters regarding inspection andrecognition of colleges, as well as for the purpose ofidentifying and selecting competent and qualified faculty.REPORT OF 3-MEMBER COMMITTEE ON REFORM OF LEGAL EDUCATION
