Theysay time flies when you’re having fun, and theChamber’s work over the past 12 months certainly hasbeen enjoyable and rewarding, albeit challenging attimes. In that time, we have delivered some significantimprovements to the level and quality of services thatwe provide to members.As we pride ourselves on the quality of our work,whether that be submissions to Government, seminarsor simple networking functions, I always feel we shouldcontinually strive to raise the bar, and we have beensuccessful in improving the quality of all our work.Moreover, as we are the most international of localchambers, and the most local of the internationalchambers, we have established a bilingual work cultureso that we begin to appeal not only to English-speakingbusinesses, but also Mainland Chinese enterprises.I strongly believe that quality policy work is thekeystone of the Chamber’s value. To this end, we havebeen building bridges with Government officials,opinion formers and leveraging the expertise of ourmembership. We have built up a solid policy divisionto ensure that every submission we put out is aquality, well-researched document that offers soundsuggestions based on the expertise of some of the bestbusiness minds in Hong Kong.As you have probably noticed, our programmesdivision is also working at full steam to delivera diverse selection of quality events. Our CEOManpower Conference, Annual Business Summit, andWomen Executives Summit were unsurpassed last year.Our upcoming Annual Business Summit on November29 this year promises to be the highlight of the year aswe have invited an impressive lineup of Hong Kong,Mainland and international speakers.While we have delivered many improvements formembers, we are aware that our work is never finished.Besides continually raising the bar on quality, we willcontinue to build our relations with Government,opinion formers, academia and the media to makesure the voice of business is clearly presented andheard. We will continue to build on the diversity ofChamber programmes, and our role in the communitywith programmes such as the Good Citizen Award,HKGCC Free Ride Day, and the Business-SchoolPartnership, among others.
