There are always fartoo many things that executives have to work on every day, somanaging the workload is a bit like the 80/20 rule. My philosophyis that it is better to achieve 120% on the importanttasks than trying to do everything and ending up with just an80% satisfaction rate.You also need to learn to delegate so that you can focus onthe important tasks. To do that you need to have a good teambacking you up, who also share the same values and passionfor the business.B: Have you always been an ambitious person?CM: Many people think that I am ambitious, but the fact is Ihave never been ambitious. I never “plan” where and when mynext move should be, which I guess is rather naive! But I doenjoy work. I enjoy setting goals. I enjoy the process and enjoythe achievements made and shared with the team.B: You have worked in retail and marketing for much of yourworking life. Why did you want to get into that field?CM: (Laugh!) That is more by accident than design!
