Their talk isempty because it is devoid of the truth of the gospel. They aredevoid ofthe gospel because they <strong>in</strong> their disobedience refuse tosubject themselves to the Word ofGod. They are out to seduce thepeople of God.4. We need to do battle aga<strong>in</strong>st them and expose them andrefute their erroneous teach<strong>in</strong>gs. If they rema<strong>in</strong> impenitent, weneed to put them out ofthe church by way ofthe exercise ofchurchdiscipl<strong>in</strong>e. The only weapon we have to accomplish this is thesound doctr<strong>in</strong>es of the Word ofGod.An <strong>in</strong>dispensable aspect ofour preach<strong>in</strong>g, therefore, must bethat it be antithetical, sharply and dist<strong>in</strong>ctively antithetical. Wemust not hesitate to refute the false teachers, the disobedient, va<strong>in</strong>talkers and deceivers. Ifwe fail <strong>in</strong> this we shall be held accountableby God and His Christ for allow<strong>in</strong>g the church to be led awayand corrupted by these evil men.Hence, be positive <strong>in</strong> your preach<strong>in</strong>g. Comfort, encourage,<strong>in</strong>struct God's people by means ofthe preach<strong>in</strong>g ofthe Word.
