STORM WATER MANAGEMENT COMMITTEESince 2003, <strong>Windham</strong> continues to monitor its storm water discharge systems within our urbanized areato comply with the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Phase II Storm Water Regulation and<strong>Windham</strong>’s Storm Water Management Plan. <strong>Windham</strong> submits an annual report to US EPA and NHDepartment <strong>of</strong> Environmental Services (DES). A new US EPA Storm Water NPDES Permit is expectedduring 2013 with updated mandates.The intent <strong>of</strong> this EPA Storm Water Regulation is to protect water resources from non-point sourcepollution from water run<strong>of</strong>f caused by rain or snow melt. We urge <strong>Windham</strong> residents to becomeinvolved and take personal steps to reduce and police run<strong>of</strong>f contamination within their property and thecommunity.Members continue to be involved with NH DES, NH Department <strong>of</strong> Transportation (DOT), and the<strong>Town</strong>s <strong>of</strong> Derry, Londonderry, and Salem on road salt (chloride) reduction efforts impacting the Route93 corridor and surrounding water resources.
