(additionallanguage versions can be found at:www.disto.com.Responsibilities of the manufacturer ofnon-Leica accessories:The manufacturers of non-Leica accessoriesfor the Leica DISTO are responsible for developing,implementing and communicating safety concepts fortheir products. They are also responsible for theeffectiviness of these safety concepts in combinationwith the Leica Geosystems equipment.Responsibilities of the person in charge ofthe instrument: WARNINGThe person responsible for the instrumentmust ensure that the equipment is used in accordancewith the instructions. This person is alsoaccountable for the deployment of personnel and fortheir training and for the safety of the equipmentwhen in use.The person in charge of the instrument has thefollowing duties:Leica DISTO D3a BT 776750 gb
• To understand the safety instructions on theproduct and the instructions in the User Manual.• To be familiar with local safety regulationsrelating to accident prevention.• To inform Leica Geosystems immediately if theequipment becomes unsafe.Hazards in use CAUTION:Watch out for erroneous distance measurementsif the instrument is defective or if it has beendropped or has been misused or modified.Precautions:Carry out periodic test measurements. Particularlyafter the instrument has been subject to abnormaluse, and before, during and after important measurements.Make sure the Leica DISTO optics is kept clean andthat there is no mechanical damage to the bumpers. CAUTION:In using the instrument for distance measurementsor for positioning moving objects (e.g. cranes,building equipment, platforms, etc.) unforeseenevents may cause erroneous measurements.Precautions:Only use this product as a measuring sensor, not asa control device. Your system must be configured andoperated in such a way, that in case of an erroneousmeasurement, malfunction of the device or powerfailure due to installed safety measures (e.g. safetylimit switch), it is assured that no damage will occur. WARNING:Flat batteries must not be disposed of withhousehold waste.
