6 NITRA TOURIST ORGANISATION AS A GUARANTY OFSUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM IN THE NITRAREGIONspeaker: Mgr. Marta Hároniková, <strong>Nitra</strong> Tourist Board<strong>Nitra</strong> Tourism Organization (NOCR) was founded in the year 2012, involving thefounding members as follows: Town of <strong>Nitra</strong>, Roman Catholic Church Diocese of <strong>Nitra</strong>,Veolia Transport <strong>Nitra</strong>, a.s., Agrokomplex – Výstavníctvo <strong>Nitra</strong>, š.p. and LL real invest, s.r.o.This is a separate legal entity which is operating pursuant to law No. 91/2010 Coll. on thepromotion of Tourism, registered by the Ministry of Transport, Building and RegionalDevelopment of the Slovak Republic. The Organization was established in terms of theNational Strategy of Tourism Development and represents a modern strategic managementsystem for tourist destination. It works on the principles of a public-private partnership,because it brings together the local government, business and other entities in the touristdestination.The changes in the market of Tourism in the recent years have also brought the factthat a Competitive Tourist Unit is no longer represented by a mere Hotel, Guest House orWater Park, but it is a larger Formation, so called Tourist Destination, which should havebeen a Complex Product, and also a Business Competitive Unit, because a visitor will choosethe particular destination (country, region, locality) as a goal of his trip and stay. Therefore,the task of the Body is to be a Shelter Organisation for the managed cooperation among themaximum number of entities of Tourism that make up and effect the visitor´s experience, aswell as for protection of our Member´s Interests. We feel the need for closer cooperationamong all the entities and institutions with any potential in the field of Tourism that arewilling to share this common goal in the context of the efficient development of Tourism inthe <strong>Nitra</strong> Region in order to form an attractive locality for Experience Tourism with its livelycity life and attractions.As an organization of Destination Management, we implement, and would like tocontinue in organizing further activities aimed at increasing the number of visitors in thisTourist Destination, increasing the visitor´s expenditures, the extension of the number of daysthat are spent by visitors in this destination, as well as creating opportunities for travellingaimed at the getting of knowledge, entertainment, amusement and cultural experiences.In the first year of its existence, <strong>Nitra</strong> Tourism Organization started establishing the variousexperience activities to promote Tourism. It implemented the miscellaneous Tours around thetown <strong>Nitra</strong> and its Surroundings by the traditional double-decker bus, renewal of medievalextramural settlement of <strong>Nitra</strong> Castle, it promotes regularly the events that are taking placehere, and planns the new project under the title „Strawberry Coquetry in the Town of <strong>Nitra</strong>“which will be based on the Weekend Tour Packages and Stays with Acommodation and otherinteresting accompanying events.THE NOCR PROJECTS IN 2013Strawberry Coquetry in the Town of <strong>Nitra</strong>The visitors can already come to <strong>Nitra</strong> to enjoy an unconventional strawberry feelingin early Spring. In May or June, when the strawberries will be maturing, together with the firstsunrays, the visitors can not only join a guided tour to discover the town, but also experiencea lot of interesting events. Each of participants will have a chance to take part in the selfcollectionof strawberries on some of the farms in the <strong>Nitra</strong> Region. The visitors can try to68
