DESIGN2.1 Geo-textile bags shall be suitable for filling with Gravel/stone ballast materials for 18"three layer polyethylene coated pipeline carrying liquid hydrocarbon for anti-buoyancymeasures in place of concrete coating.2.2 Composition and the details of materials shall be as per recommendation ofmanufacturer2.3 The geo-textile bags shall meet the following requirements:Body fabric material must be rated for geo-textile use and as such must be woven withminimum permeability rating to suit specified Gravel/stone ballast materials. Geo-textile bagsshall be of top loading fabric-type made from woven polypropylene material.The center to center spacing between a set of geo-textile bags shall be kept minimum possiblebut in no case shall it exceed 7.0 meters in case 18" pipeline.2.4 Manufacturer shall take prior approval from Owner on details of geo-textile bags anddesign calculations.2.5 The fabric weights to be used in the pipeline should be from a manufacturer with aminimum of 5 years continuous, successful experience in production of geo-textile fabricweights for pipeline buoyancy control application.
