However, at locations, where it is not feasible to cross the road by open cutmethod, boring/ jacking method shall be used.• All the cart tracks crossings shall be carried out by open cut method.• The road crossings shall be provided with a minimum clear cover of 1200mm. Measured fromtop of the carrier pipe.• ROW width of Yamuna Expressway is 150 mtr. at Ch. 169.60 and it is proposed to be crossedby HDD method.In general road crossings fall in the following categories:National Highways (NH's) and ExpresswaysAll National Highways and Expressways are to be bored and cased. These crossings have:• 1200mm min. cover from top of carrier/ cased pipe to the top of the road surface including theinvert of the table drains.• Warning markers shall be installed on both sides of the crossing.• Heavy wall line pipe thickness shall be used for crossing of road.• Cathodic protection test point must be installed to monitor casing / carrier pipe electricalisolation.• End seals at both ends of the casing pipe. The end seals shall make provision for the G.I. pipe(if applicable) that encases the two HDPE ducts.• Bentonite clay material shall be filled between casing and carrier pipe.Major State HighwaysMajor State Highways are to be bored and cased.
