Thisapparent reality could be denied only by those who have beencorrupted by non-madhhabite poison and those who have beencaught in the trap of mulhids and dissented from Islam. MayAllâhu ta’âlâ protect all Muslims against this grave disaster!Âmin.” [1]59 - Ahmad Ridâ Khan Barilawî, a great scholar of India, inhis fatwâ book Fatâwâ ’l-Haramain, answers twenty-eightquestions. All of these fatwâs are in conformity with theteachings of the Ahl as-Sunna ’ulamâ’. Ten of these fatwâs aregiven below for their auspiciousness:Question 1: “The British spies in India, who call themselves‘Nayâshira’, believe that Jabrâ’il (’alaihi ’s-salâm), angels,genies, the Satan, heavens, the mu’jiza of Mi’râj, Hell andParadise exist and that bodies will get alive again as Muslimsbelieve. Yet they give false meanings to the âyats that deal withthese subjects, as some of the people called Bâtiniyya do.They say that these things are not made of matter but they areconceptual and imaginative. They say that nothing can existbeyond customs and physical laws. Thus they deny that Allâhuta’âlâ can create many things beyond the laws of nature. Theydo not believe in mu’jizât, and they explain them awayaccording to what they see and learn in nature. They say that itis harâm and cruelty to use as slaves the captives taken fromamong non-Muslims in the jihâd performed for spreading Allah’sreligion and that it is something done by the savage. Though itwas defined in all heavenly religions, they claim that Allah hasnot commanded it. They do not believe any of the tafsîr andhadîth books. They claim that all their contents have beeninvented by ’ulamâ. They say, ‘The Qur’ân remains the soletruth in our hands. We interpret the Qur’ân according to our newinformation. We do not believe what the early Muslimsunderstood from it or what has reached us from them.’ Canthose who say so be called ‘Muslims’ or ‘Ahl al-Qibla’ even ifthey say that they are Muslim, utter kalimat ash-shahâda andperform salât towards the qibla?
