Muhammad Qutb and ’Abduh, who were the enemies of Islam, from inserting their dirty pens into Islam’s chastity. If theOttoman Turks had not protected Islam against the aggressionof ignorant people like these, Islam also, like Christianity, wouldhave been an altogether mixed-up, impure religion. It is,however, a lamentable fact that Islam has been injured andmade a plaything in the hands of the heretics in Mecca andEgypt. It may even be thought that hewent to Ethiopia, perhaps by sea. All these journeys providedhim with the acquirement of the commercial and administrativetraditions and laws of Byzantium, Persia, Yemen and Ethiopia. In his age of maturity, this experienced man of forty attemptedto reform his nation.”On the contrary, Muslim historians say unanimously thatRasûlullah (’alaihi ’s-salâm) was suckled by his mother for threedays, then by Abû Lahab’s jâriya named Suwaiba for 40 or 120days and then by Halîma Khâtûn until he was five years old.
