Girls Lacrosse League<br />

Grade: 3-9<br />

Exclusively for girls throughout the Chicago area, we emphasize positive coaching<br />

in a respectful, safe and fun environment. Program goals include lacrosse rules,<br />

teamwork, sportsmanship and personal development. All girls receive equal playing<br />

time. Each player must have goggles, a stick and a mouth guard for practices and<br />

games. Eligibility is determined by IGLA. Information about eligibility, requirements,<br />

purchasing equipment, practice locations, schedules, uniform sizing, updates and<br />

more is available at www.iglax.org. Equipment packages are the tab: Get Ready to<br />

Registration is a two-step process:<br />

1. Register through Glen Ellyn Park District<br />

2. Visit www.iglax.org and click on the registration tab to submit uniform sizing<br />

and participant information.<br />

Games: Sunday, 12pm-5pm<br />

Boys Fall Lacrosse Clinics<br />

Weekly clinics are open to boys of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced<br />

players. Training sessions are based around mastering the fundamentals of passing,<br />

catching, ground balls, shooting, footwork and defense. The program also focuses<br />

on individual skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship (8 classes). [BB]<br />

Equipment<br />

Players must have equipment for the first<br />

day of class. All players must have their own stick. Other required equipment such<br />

as helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, and gloves can be rented from True Lacrosse.<br />

Youth Archery<br />

Archery participants will learn the<br />

parts of an arrow and recurve bow,<br />

the basics of using a recurve bow,<br />

and fundamental shooting skills in a<br />

safe environment. They also will learn<br />

an excellent, nationally recognized<br />

beginner’s 9-step to the 10 ring<br />

progression which was created by the<br />

Coaches Development Committee of<br />

the National Archery Association. Blunt<br />

tipped arrows, bows, and targets are<br />

provided. Both technique and games<br />

will be a part of this class. Instructor:<br />
