The demand for permits continues to swing upwards. Historically, January is “catch<br />
up” month where filing, annual organizational activities, and the prior year’s archiving<br />
are easily accomplished as <strong>of</strong>fice activity is typically down. However in 2011 and<br />
again in 2012, the model is changing. When looking at both building applications<br />
submitted and building permits issued in January 2011 vs. 2012 there were 36% and<br />
17% respective increases. The below table compares January activity in 2011 to 2012<br />
within the Building Division:<br />

Historical Commission – There was one Historical Commission meeting in January<br />
2012.<br />
In January 2012, the CHC did not have any scheduled regulatory actions. They did<br />
have general discussions on the following topics: CPA applications, the Mitchell River<br />
Bridge, Preservation Awards and 2012 meeting schedule and goals.<br />
Planning Board – There were a total <strong>of</strong> six Planning Board meetings in January 2012:<br />
two regular business meetings (1/10 & 1/24), three Zoning Bylaw Rewrite meetings /<br />
