Operations<br />
Aids to Navigation:<br />
- Hauled North Cut Buoys (G, F, E, D, C)<br />
- Re-set CH Flag Buoy #3<br />
Set new mooring ball and tackle on <strong>Town</strong> mooring RC-B.<br />
1/15/2012 – Recalled in support <strong>of</strong> local Coast Guard & Orleans Harbormaster to<br />
assist in search <strong>of</strong> plane crash victims that occurred in Brewster.<br />
Set up and deployed on the H-25 a Digital Bird Repeller (BB-Pro) system in an<br />
attempt to scare Eider Ducks away from mussel beds in <strong>Chatham</strong> Harbor.<br />
Servicing <strong>of</strong> <strong>Chatham</strong> Harbor buoys ongoing – remove, inspect, repair and/or<br />
replace as needed buoys & ground<br />
Administration<br />
Private Mooring Renewals and Mooring Wait List Renewals - Processing &<br />
associated data entry <strong>of</strong> renewals and non-renewals ongoing. Over 160 courtesy<br />
letters were sent to mooring permit holders who did not submit renewal form by<br />
31 Dec deadline. No renewals will be accepted after the final deadline <strong>of</strong> 29<br />
February, 2012.<br />
Submitted 2011 <strong>Town</strong> Report for the Department.<br />
Drafted 2011 Patrol Boat Operations Report; included with <strong>Town</strong> Report.<br />
Prepared power point on department mooring management operations for<br />
Marine Trades Association presentation by Harbormaster.<br />
Rewrite <strong>of</strong> Waterway Regulations ongoing for future review by the Waterways<br />
Advisory Committee.<br />
Submitted quarterly report for Port Security Grant.<br />
Office Manager continued to log hundreds <strong>of</strong> phone calls and <strong>of</strong>fice visits relating<br />
to mooring permits and waiting lists, transient mooring requests, pump outs,<br />
boat haul-outs, regulation compliance issues.<br />
Maintenance<br />
Mitchell River Bridge – replaced additional 16’ long decking boards on the bridge.<br />
