EFFECT OF FEEDING COMPLETE FEED CONTAINING POULTRY LITTER ON RUMEN NITROGEN and protozoal nitrogen (29.85) were significantly (P>0.01) higher in goats than in sheep, which indicated better digestibility of fiber in goats than sheep. Similar findings were reported by Shyamadayal et al., (1995) in goats. No significant (P>0.01) difference in rumen ammonia concentration was observed between sheep and goats. Time of sampling had significant (P>0.01) effect both in sheep and goats. The mean residual nitrogen and ammonia concentrations did not differ significantly between sheep and goats. The time of sampling had highly significant (P>0.01) effect on all the rumen parameters in both sheep and goats and attained peak levels at 2 hours of post feeding. Table 1.
