interference with, the normal operation of the University. A separated student’s<br />
eligibility for the continuation of his/her status and residency will be dependent upon<br />
his/ her subsequent behavior and the presence of any renewed threat of harm or<br />
disruption.<br />
During periods of low occupancy, conduct cases will be heard by the Associate Dean of<br />
Student Affairs and/or her designees. Students involved in incidents during final exams<br />
will be dealt with as swiftly as possible and sanctions will be increased for violations<br />
that occur during this time period. As a result of the shortened time period available<br />
during the final examination period, written notification of the hearing time, place, and<br />
charges may be waived by the Student Affairs Hearing Officer.<br />
Traffic Council<br />

The Traffic Council serves as the appeals board for individuals regarding parking policy<br />
violations on campus and in University controlled parking lots. It has the responsibility<br />
to hear and adjudicate cases involving ticketing and towing initiated by the Public Safety<br />
Office.<br />
Membership: The Executive Director of Campus Support Services, or designated<br />
representative, chairs the Traffic Council as a non-voting member and acts only as an<br />
administrator for this group. The voting membership of the Traffic Council includes:<br />
1. a representative from the Inter-Resident Hall Council<br />
2. a representative from the Commuter Council<br />
3. a member of the student body who is appointed by the President of Student<br />
Government<br />
4. a Student Affairs Cabinet member appointed by the Dean of Students<br />
5. an administrator outside of the Office of Public Safety, appointed by the Vice<br />
President for Finance and Support Operations<br />
The Traffic Council will schedule meetings on a monthly basis as necessary. All fines are<br />
considered suspended until such time as a hearing is held.<br />
In no instances does the Traffic Council have jurisdiction over complaints with regard<br />
to:<br />
1. meter parking<br />
2. city ordinances governing parking<br />
3. special off-campus parking arrangements<br />
