depending on the nature of the incident and potential threat to the campus community.
Role of Associate Dean of Student Affairs (or designee)
The Associate Dean of Student Affairs (or designee) is the primary person who will investigate
the case, inform the alleged victim and accused of rights and processes, and prepare all
documents relative to the case. Other Student Affairs staff may assist in the process depending
on the circumstances of the case.
Role of the Dean of Students
The Dean of Students will, upon request of an appeal, determine if there is merit for an appeal of
a sexual misconduct decision to be granted. If there is merit to the appeal, based on established
criteria, the Dean will notify all parties involved as to their respective responsibilities in the
process and provide required notification of outcomes.

While the Title IX Coordinator has ultimate oversight responsibility over all Title IX complaints,
the Deputy Coordinator will provide direct guidance and supervision in allegations of sexual
harassment and sexual misconduct involving students. More specifically, the responsibilities of
the Deputy Coordinator are as follows:
Be available to meet with student complainants and those individuals who are accused of
sexual harassment and violence as needed to discuss the University’s grievance
procedures and support services.
Review all evidence and administrative notes pertaining to reports of sexual harassment
and violence involving students and closely monitor all investigations and conduct
proceedings to ensure a fair and comprehensive process.
o Note: The Deputy Coordinator does not have any job responsibilities that would
create a conflict of interest in cases brought to a student conduct hearing.
Create educational materials and training programs on sexual harassment and violence
for dissemination to the campus community.
