card when properly requested by an agent of the University. If the person refuses to<br />
furnish the University ID card he/she will be removed from the building/ premises<br />
and/or subject to disciplinary action. Each University ID card is the property of the<br />
University, anyone who alters or intentionally mutilates the University ID card; who<br />
uses the University ID card of another; or who allows his/her University ID card to be<br />
used by another is subject to disciplinary action.<br />
If a card is lost or stolen it can be replaced. The individual must pay a fee at the<br />
University Service Center between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Monday — Friday. An ID<br />
card will then be created and issued at that time.<br />
Wilkes University’s ID Card Center is located at the University Service Center, ground<br />
floor, 148 S. Main St.. The ID Card Center’s operating hours are Monday – Friday 8:00<br />
a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on the first weekend of each semester for the “Weekender<br />
Program” under designated hours established by the Office of Public Safety.<br />
Jury Duty<br />
Persons over 18 years of age may be called to serve on a jury. The University encourages<br />
students to accept their responsibility as a citizen and to serve when called. Upon the<br />
presentation of proper documentation the Office of Student Affairs will notify a<br />
student’s faculty members that the student has been summoned for jury duty.<br />
Firearms and Dangerous Weapons<br />
The possession or use of firearms, deadly weapons, or explosives or explosive substances<br />
on University property by unauthorized persons is strictly forbidden. CO2 and springpropelled<br />
guns are also prohibited.<br />
Those who have a permit to carry a concealed firearm may not bring the firearm on<br />
campus or to University-sponsored events held off campus. Only authorized law<br />
enforcement personnel may possess a firearm while on University property.<br />
Gambling<br />
Gambling on University property is not permitted. Any individual or campus<br />
organization wishing to hold an event requiring clarification on the definition of<br />
gambling should consult the Office of Student Development or the Office of Student<br />
Affairs.<br />
Raffles<br />
Campus organizations may not hold raffles on or off campus. Any exception to this<br />
policy should be made to the Office of Student Affairs.<br />
