mic nights. The bookstore also houses a spirit shop featuring Wilkes spirit logo<br />
merchandise, and sells residence hall and school supplies.<br />
Campus Counseling Service<br />

Campus Counseling, a part of Health and Wellness Services, provides on-campus,<br />
confidential assessment and counseling for Wilkes University students experiencing<br />
personal problems. Campus Counseling offers individual and group counseling for a<br />
wide range of problems, including those related to stress, academic anxiety, relationship<br />
difficulties, depression, and drug and alcohol abuse. Referrals to off-campus caregivers<br />
can be arranged.<br />
In addition to this counseling focus, Campus Counseling offers growth-oriented<br />
programs such as stress and time management, weight-control, and various inresidence<br />
hall presentations. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through<br />
Friday. Campus Counseling is located on the first floor of Passan Hall and appointments<br />
can be made by phoning extension 4730 or by coming into the office. Students may opt<br />
to take an anonymous, free online screening for alcohol misuse at<br />
www.mentalhealthscreening.org/screening/<strong>WILKES</strong><br />
Campus Media and Publications<br />
Students publish The Beacon, a weekly newspaper; the Manuscript, a literary magazine;<br />
Amnicola, the University yearbook. There are opportunities for students on the<br />
editorial, art, and business staffs. A subscription to The Beacon is paid for through<br />
University funds. It is distributed to students.<br />
The University also maintains an F.M. radio station, WCLH, which broadcasts daily at<br />
90.7 MHz and a cable television channel, broadcast on Service Electric. Interested<br />
students are invited to participate.<br />
Office of Public Safety<br />

The Office of Public Safety is part of the Facilities Department which is led by a director<br />
who reports to the Vice President of Finance and General Counsel. The administrative<br />
offices and Public Safety Desk are located on the ground floor of the parking garage<br />
located at 148 South Main St.. The Office of Public Safety provides uniformed services<br />
twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. This office consists of a Manager, 12 fulltime<br />
officers and 2 part-time officers. Public Safety Officers make regular patrols of the<br />
University grounds and buildings by foot, bike and vehicle.<br />
