means in Romans chapter ten.
“If you openly declare that Jesus
is Lord and believe in your heart
that God raised Him from the
dead, you will be saved. For it
is by believing in your heart that
you are made right with God,
and it is by openly declaring
your faith that you are saved”
(Romans 10:9-10 NLT). Declaration.
Belief. This is the way.
Salvation is defined as declaring
Jesus Christ is your Savior,
your Lord and King, and equally
believing such in your heart.
There is no well-versed prayer
or specific way in which to do
this. The sinner on the cross
next to Jesus said, “Jesus,
remember me when you come
into your kingdom” (Luke 23:42).
And because our Savior is the
very epitome of love, through his
blood, sweat, and suffering, He
offered compassion and empathy
for this sinner and confirmed
He would join Him in paradise.
Considering the righteousness
Jesus gave us in exchange for
our sin, how often do we still
measure our works to scale our
Christianity, or better yet our
salvation? There is no attainable
amount of works or good
deeds you and I could complete
to even compare to one lashing
He took when He scarified Himself
for us. Though so often it is
as though we are saying, “Lord,
your sacrifice was not enough. I
